BIOGRAPHY
Tamerrah Donaldson, a Jackson State University student pursuing a degree in Elementary Education, served as an Interpretation Intern at Medgar and Myrlie Evers Home National Monument through the HBCUI Internship Program.
Prior to her internship, Tamerrah gained valuable experience working at Golden Child Learning Center, where she spent two years supporting early childhood education and learning development. She was also actively involved in Jackson State University’s Honors College and organizations supporting transfer and commuter students.
During her internship, Tamerrah worked closely with education and interpretation staff to support student engagement and educational programming at the Medgar and Myrlie Evers Home National Monument. She assisted with the preparation of instructional materials, organized educational activities, and supported guided visits for school groups and other visitors. Her work helped connect students and visitors with the history and legacy of Medgar and Myrlie Evers through engaging and accessible learning experiences.
The internship strengthened her skills in education, communication, lesson planning, and public engagement while providing valuable experience in museum and historic site interpretation. Through her work, Tamerrah helped advance the site’s mission of preserving and sharing an important chapter of American history with future generations.

Internship Project
As an Interpretation Intern, Tamerrah supported educational programming and visitor engagement efforts at Medgar and Myrlie Evers Home National Monument. Her work focused on developing and organizing instructional materials, assisting with educational activities, and helping facilitate learning experiences for student groups visiting the site.
Working alongside National Park Service staff, she contributed to the creation and refinement of educational content designed to help students better understand the lives, leadership, and lasting impact of Medgar and Myrlie Evers. Several of the materials she developed continue to support educational programming at the site.
