2024 HBCUI Intern
BIOGRAPHY
R’Eion Featherstone, a Columbus, Ohio native and graduate of Central State University with a degree in Psychology, served as a Training and Professional Development Fellow with the National Parks of Boston through the HBCUI Internship Program in 2024.
Throughout her academic career, R’Eion demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership and community engagement. She held leadership roles in several organizations, including the Dancing Belles, served as a university ambassador, and actively participated in her local chapter of the NAACP.
During her internship, R’Eion supported planning efforts related to U250, the nationwide commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026. Working closely with National Parks of Boston staff, she assisted the U250 Training and Professional Development Working Group and contributed to the development of training and curriculum materials designed to help staff understand and implement the core principles and goals of the initiative.
Through this experience, R’Eion gained valuable insight into program development, training design, public history, and collaborative project management while contributing to a major National Park Service initiative of national significance.

DHA Research Assistant Oral Presentation – Career & Leadership Workshop





As part of the 2024 HBCUI Career and Leadership Workshop, R’Eion Featherstone participated in the DHA Research Assistant Oral Presentations. During the session, she presented her internship accomplishments and project work completed with the National Parks of Boston, highlighting her contributions to the U250 Training and Professional Development Working Group. The presentation provided an opportunity to share insights, discuss lessons learned, and engage with National Park Service staff, mentors, and fellow interns during a question-and-answer session.

Connecting with Leadership
